Every price on Forecourt UK comes from the UK Government's official Fuel Finder scheme. It is the same data every fuel retailer is legally required to submit — including any change within 30 minutes of it happening. We explain the scheme in plain language here.
How often does the data update?
Retailers are legally required to report any price change to Fuel Finder within 30 minutes. Forecourt UK pulls the latest government file every 30 minutes, so each station's price reflects the most recent price its retailer reported. Full details on how it works.
Is Forecourt UK free?
Yes. Comparing fuel prices on Forecourt UK is completely free and requires no account or sign-up.
Which fuel types do you cover?
We cover standard and premium petrol, and standard and premium diesel — including Super Unleaded (E5) and Premium Diesel (B7P). Use the filter on the site to find the fuel type you drive on.
Why is a price different from what I saw at the pump?
Prices shown are the most recent price each retailer reported to the government's Fuel Finder scheme. If a retailer changed its pump price but hasn't yet submitted the update, the site can briefly show the old figure. The pump is always the final authority — always confirm before filling up.
How do I report an incorrect price?
In any station's results on the site, open that station and use the Report incorrect price control to tell us what the pump actually showed. Your report is logged and helps us keep the data as accurate as possible.
Is this the same as 'live' fuel prices?
No — and we don't claim it is. Prices are as reported to the government's Fuel Finder scheme, which retailers report every 30 minutes. That is accurate and transparent, but it is not a real-time feed from every pump.
