Forecourt UK — how we handle your data

Forecourt UK lets you compare UK fuel prices by location. We aim to collect as little as possible — we do not use cookies, and we do not store personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, or IP address.

What we collect

When you use the site, we anonymously log the search itself. Each search stores:

• What you searched for — the postcode or town, or the coordinates from your device if you use the "Use my location" button (and whether it was a location-based search).
• The fuel type you selected (e.g. Super Unleaded E5, Diesel B7).
• How many results the search returned, and whether the search succeeded or failed.
• Device category and browser (e.g. "mobile / Chrome") — derived from the device's user-agent string, and used only to understand what types of devices people search from.

We also record when a search fails so we can monitor how often the geocoding or search features break.

What we don't collect

• No cookies of any kind.
• No personal identifiers — no name, email, account, or login.
• No IP address is stored with the analytics.
• No "tracking pixels" or third-party ad trackers.

How we use it

The data is used solely to understand aggregate usage — for example, which fuels people search for and which searches return no results — so we can improve the service. It is not sold or shared with third parties.

Data retention

Search logs are stored until we no longer need them; they are not linked to you and cannot be used to identify you.
